Channing Frye is finally introduced...

Not sure what the hold up was, really. What with Oden out, you'd think the Blazer management would be eager to fill up space with what else is going on with the team. At least Frye seems happy to be here, according to Jason Quick of the Oregonian:

Frye said he hopes he is part of the organization's long-term plans. He already has purchased a condo in the south waterfront and intends on making Portland his home.

"In life you go places where you think maybe things will work out or maybe I'll just blend or maybe it will grow on me," Frye said. "But as soon as I got off that plane, I felt at home. This is where I'm supposed to be and I just want to take advantage of it."

*Frye may have grown up in Arizona and attended the University of Arizona, but he is a Northwesterner at heart. Fishing is one of his hobbies.

"I do love fishing," he said. "It's a chance for me to get away from basketball. You can't really get hurt fly fishing in a foot of water (laughter) so it's pretty safe. It's a chance for me to just relax. Basketball is stressful and fishing gives me a chance to think about myself and kind of get away from the world."

Can we go back to the part where he said Basketball is stressful ?? I'm happy he's here, and I'm even happier that Randolph is long gone. But really -- compared to say, me, who teaches teenagers, and Joe Sixpack Dude, who works some paperwork job for no pay and less appreciation than me, I highly doubt that playing basketball professionally is on the top of the stressful jobs list. Please.

I'm just saying. Welcome to PDX, and relax already.
